The European promotional banner, Newen Connect, recently acquired the rights for “Haunted Minds,” a chilling psychological thriller helmed by renowned Belgian director Lucas Belvaux (“This Is Our Land”), just days before the start of the European Film Market in Berlin.
The television show ‘Haunted Minds’ boasts a captivating ensemble, with Niels Schneider and Ramzy Bedia among its stars. These two actors previously appeared in Xavier Giannoli’s critically acclaimed miniseries ‘Of Money and Blood.’ Deborah François, known for her role in ‘Savage State,’ and Linh-dan Pham from ‘Mr. Nobody’ round out the talented cast.
In a surprising turn of events, the protagonist I’m about to discuss is Skender, a battle-hardened veteran struggling with PTSD and disconnected from his family due to homelessness. One day, my former comrade Max presents him with an enticing proposition: track down a specific individual. If Skender accepts and perishes during this mission within a month, his family will be financially secured. On the other hand, if he survives for an entire month, the money is his to keep. This operation is set to take place six months from now, in a distant land.
The film titled “Haunted Minds” is brought to you by Artémis Productions, known for their works such as “Beating Hearts” and “The Animal Kingdom”, along with Bizibi, creators of “Alice and the Mayor”. UGC will release this movie in the third quarter of 2025.
Newen Connect’s lineup for the European Film Market (EFM) features a variety of films, such as “Natacha” directed by Noémie Saglio, “Lucky Star” from Pascal Elbé, “Match Made in Heaven” by Vladimir Rodionov, “Rodrigue in Love” by Johann Dionnet, and “All in Favour” directed by Santiago Requejo. Additionally, screenings for the market will showcase comedies like “Off to India” by Ali and Redouane Bougheraba, and “Better Days” from Elsa Bennett and Hippolyte Dard.
