Bandai Namco and Dimps have just rolled out an update for the remastered version of Freedom Wars, taking it to Version 1.4. This update primarily addresses technical issues, such as resolving freezing in multiplayer rooms and displaying a unique icon when a player triggers the Deadly Sinner Mode in public.
But the information about this game doesn’t stop there. On the same page, the developers have also shared their plans for upcoming update patches. One of the exciting features they are working on is allowing players to customize their character and accessory names using Japanese scripts like hiragana, katakana, and kanji characters.
In the upcoming update for the remastered version, there will be a change addressing the concern of players from Japan who found the name input limited to alphabets. This was not an issue in the original PlayStation Vita release where Japanese text was accepted. Furthermore, this global build includes a worldwide multiplayer matchmaking option.
After this point, you’ll discover the update details for Freedom Wars Remastered, which is now playable across various platforms. The remastered version of the original PlayStation Vita game has been released globally on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

Specification adjustments/changes
- [Willonite: Minimum Purity] GDPP Value
The GDPP value earned upon delivering the corresponding item has been changed.
- Adjustment to Thorn Gauge Consumption During Revival
In this game scenario, when you opt for a close-range character revival method, the Thorn Gauge won’t get depleted anymore. However, if you choose to revive from a distance by firing thorns, the gauge will be diminished just like it used to.
- Behavior When Colliding with Obstacles While Carrying Citizens
In the process of contributing, the excessive stopping or slowing down upon hitting obstacles while transporting people has been reduced.
- Attack Hitbox for Heavy Melee [Mimas] [Caliburn] Type Weapons
To make sure the visual representation of the Power Attack Charge 1 for both Heavy Melee weapons, Mimas and Caliburn types, aligns with their actual attacks, we’ve tweaked the hitbox area.
- Power Attack Adjustment During Thorn Connection
The adjustment made ensures that when you execute a strong attack while linked to the Thorn using Heavy Melee, instead of initiating a unique attack that couldn’t be charged, a regular attack that can be charged will take place. Furthermore, executing a powerful attack during a Thorn link will now disconnect the Thorn link for all weapons.
- After a successful contribution, the chat was previously unavailable until the result screen.
The change allows for chat usage now, from when a contribution is successfully made until the outcome screen appears.
- Regarding the attack judgment of Dionaea’s [Dragon Beam]
Changes have been implemented to the area where the Dragon Beam, emitted by the giant Abductor Dionaea, connects with a target.
