Farm 51 has revealed that the sequel to Chernobylite, titled “Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone,” will debut on Steam Early Access on March 6th. This announcement follows the crowdfunding campaign for the game reaching its goal on Kickstarter, with a few days still remaining in the funding period. The anticipated post-apocalyptic action RPG is slated for a complete launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC later in the year.

Similar to its predecessor, Chernobylite 2 follows the journey of individuals striving to complete an insurmountable task and endure within the ominous Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
Cole Grey, a veteran from the military and security services, resides in a world where the economy and industry revolve around a substance known as Chernobylite. This material has significantly advanced civilization. Yet, the construction of this utopia has resulted in widespread unemployment, leaving individuals like Cole on society’s fringes. Struggling financially, he decides to join the enigmatic “Planewalker” project to support his family.
It soon becomes clear that there is a scarcity of Chernobylite within Cole’s universe, leading to a contentious endeavor where he must traverse alternate realms in pursuit of this mineral, regardless of the means employed for acquisition. Furthermore, the Planewalker role necessitates genetic alterations. To bolster his physical and mental prowess, Cole is compelled to assimilate Chernobylite’s essence and sacrifice a piece of his humanity. However, with limited alternatives, he consents to the perilous and violent service, which ultimately lands him in the bleakest location on earth – the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Therein, he encounters a figure known as the Black Stalker, who serves as both the zone’s enigmatic guide and secret ruler.
