2025’s Pokemon Day is swiftly approaching, and there’s a whirlwind of speculation among the franchise’s fanbase about potential announcements. Yet, one popular YouTuber has faced criticism after dismissing a beloved Nintendo Switch game that fans have been eagerly anticipating sequels for in the coming years.
In 2018, Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee made its debut on the Nintendo Switch, offering a modern take on the classic adventures set in the Kanto region from Red & Blue games, with enhanced graphics and user-friendly features tailored for newcomers. Ever since the game was released, fans have been anxiously anticipating any updates regarding potential sequels in the series.
The game, titled Let’s Go, gained significant popularity due to its mechanics similar to Pokemon Go, user-friendly combat system, and the occurrence of Shiny spawns in the overworld on routes. It was praised as an excellent starting point for novice gamers or those transitioning from Go to the main series.
Although it’s widely beloved, there hasn’t been any word yet about more games in the same vein, and one YouTube content creator has publicly expressed satisfaction at the idea of never hearing about new ones. This comment has stirred up quite a reaction in the post’s comment section.
Fans want more Let’s Go games
In a recent social media post from PhillyBeatzU, the popular YouTuber with more than half a million subscribers expressed a strong opinion: “I’m firmly convinced about this point. I have no desire for another ‘Lets Go’ game in my future. The graphics were at their best! However, everything else left me unimpressed.
I’m firmly committed to this stance: I never want another “Let’s Go” game in my lifetime. The graphics were superb, but the rest was lacking.

As a passionate gamer, I’ve noticed that when it comes to the latest opinions about Pokémon games, the comments section is always buzzing with responses. Recently, Austin John Plays, a highly respected Pokémon YouTuber with over 2.4 million subscribers, chimed in with his thoughts. He said, “Looking back, Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! were fantastic games for introducing younger audiences to the world of Pokémon. It’s been more than six years since their release. If we get another game in a similar style within the next 1-2 years, it would be a great continuation.”
PhillyBeatzU reacted with a “vomiting” emoji to this comment, but other players swiftly backed Austin John’s viewpoint. One player commented, “I concur. It was instrumental in helping me introduce my mom to Pokemon as it simplified gameplay for someone unfamiliar with video games.
Another player added, “Cry alone. For shiny hunting and collecting it is awesome.”
Other commenters concurred that certain aspects were absent from ‘Let’s Go’, however, future iterations might incorporate features such as player abilities, thus expanding the gameplay possibilities.
Currently, we don’t have any updates about if the developers are planning a new game in the “Let’s Go” series. However, since Pokemon news is coming up soon, it’s not impossible that something might be in the works.
