It appears that Sony’s digital storefront, the PlayStation Store, inadvertently spilled some beans about Konami’s upcoming Metal Gear Solid remaster. The listing for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which previously lacked a confirmed release date, seems to have accidentally disclosed this crucial piece of information as a result of the mix-up.
The leak revealed details about Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, including its trailer, gameplay content, features, and a planned release date for Fall. It’s speculated that this information might have been kept secret until the upcoming PlayStation State of Play event, which is rumored to take place in February 2025 (via NateTheHate).

Following an unintentional reveal of details about Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on the PlayStation Store, it’s apparent that any mention of its launch date was subsequently erased from the store page. This could be due to the trailer being taken down following the leak. However, the damage might already have been done since the release date trailer had been shared on social media and various online platforms, quickly spreading and exposing the game’s scheduled release on 28th August 2025.
The leaked trailer unveiled the comeback of the classic Snake vs. Monkey battle, a feature from the initial game, although it’s worth noting that the trailer was taken down from the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater listing on the PlayStation Store. For now, we can only rely on the information provided in the official game listing, which includes a quick overview of the game, as well as details about its initial features like Remote Play compatibility and improvements for PS5 Pro.
In May 2023, Konami unveiled a remastered version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, originally released in 2004 and titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Players got their first look at the game’s engine during the Xbox Partner Preview event in October 2023. At the time of its announcement, the game was still in development by Konami. They made use of the advanced capabilities offered by Unreal Engine 5, and a trailer for the game was officially shown at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2024. However, an official release date was not confirmed until a recent leak.
