The Pokemon TCG‘s Cyrus card is exceptionally potent, even overpowering (OP), making it a regular inclusion in top-tier decks. Yet, there’s a straightforward solution against it using a well-known Trainer card.
In TCG Pocket games, Trainer cards have traditionally been quite strong, but one has stood out as overly powerful: Cyrus. Unlike Sabrina, who allows opponents to exchange their active Pokémon for another of their choice, Cyrus compels players to switch to a card that already has damage on it.
In simpler terms, this feature enables Cyrus decks to seize Pokemon directly from the bench without putting themselves at risk. This tactic is incredibly potent when employed in Darkrai ex, Palkia ex, and Articuno ex decks. Cards such as Greninja and Spiritomb, which normally attack the bench, become even more formidable when backed by Team Galactic’s boss, ready to strike from the sidelines.
If fleeing your Pokemon on the TCG Pocket field isn’t an option for you anymore, consider using Mr. Fuji instead. This card has been a part of the game since 1997 and offers a suitable response in such situations.
TCG Pocket needs to bring back Mr. Fuji
Back in 1997, during the Fossil expansion pack, Mr. Fuji first appeared in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Much like the compassionate character he represents, the Mr. Fuji card focuses on healing and caring for wounded Pokémon.
When employed, the user can select a Pokemon from their playing field and rearrange it along with any connected cards into their deck. While this may seem insignificant, it could mean saving your valuable Ex card instead of losing two points to your rival.
Add two of these cards to your stack, and all of a sudden, the troublesome Cyrus won’t pose a threat anymore. However, you’ll need a bit of good fortune to pull out Mr. Fuji from your deck. But who would have thought that the ideal solution against the powerful Team Galactic would come from a benevolent old man?
In addition, we can’t resist appreciating Ken Sugimori’s original card illustrations even more, so it seems only natural. Now, it’s high time for TCG Pocket to release Mr. Fuji from his Lavender Town retirement and shine the limelight on him, a role he rightfully deserves.
We enjoy looking at Ken Sugimori’s original card illustrations even more, so it feels intuitive. It’s about time for TCG Pocket to free Mr. Fuji from his Lavender Town retirement and give him the attention he truly warrants.)
