According to Electronic Arts’ recent financial report, they guarantee that the upcoming Battlefield will be launched prior to April 1, 2026.
In the third quarter of fiscal year 2025, our company’s net revenue was $1.88 billion, which is lower than last year’s figure of $1.95 billion. This decrease occurred due to underperformance in titles like Dragon Age: The Veilguard and EA Sports FC 25, which didn’t meet expectations compared to projections, even the slightly less optimistic ones. Previously, many other publishing companies had already released their reports for either the past year or fiscal quarter.
However, the report included a captivating remark about the company’s financial status:
Today, we revealed intentions for a swift share buyback worth $1 billion, adding up to a total of $2.5 billion in stock repurchases within the initial year of our $5 billion authorization. This move demonstrates our conviction in Electronic Arts’ long-term business strategy and our knack for juggling growth investments with capital redistribution.
EA wants the “biggest” Battlefield in history
Absolutely, the company didn’t just disclose financial figures, it also spotlighted key happenings from the previous quarter and talked about predictions for the upcoming months. It’s worth mentioning the Battlefield Labs test platform, a new EA project in anticipation of the planned launch of the next Battlefield game, which is expected to be released in the fiscal year 2026, starting from April 1, 2025, and ending on March 31, 2026.
The most recent versions of “Battlefield” were released in the fall, suggesting that October or November could potentially be the release month for the seventh installment. However, it’s important to note that this is not definitive. In the meantime, players are eagerly signing up for tests of this upcoming title, hoping that it will provide a better experience than Battlefield 2042.
Currently, Andrew Wilson, the CEO of Electronic Arts, guarantees that the upcoming Battlefield title promises to be the largest one yet produced by EA, notably for its expansive scope and immersive gameplay experience (as reported by PC Gamer).
For this upcoming Battlefield, we’ve allocated greater resources than any previous Battlefield. We currently operate four development studios, and we’ve had ample time to work on it. Our aim is to create the largest and most impactful Battlefield game we’ve ever developed.
There is some trepidation amongst the core community as to what this Battlefield will be.
Battlefield, an enormously popular gaming franchise, offers a massive, immersive experience featuring destruction, vehicles, and various other elements that captivate its fanbase. However, the latest editions haven’t quite struck the same chord with players worldwide, leaving some significant segments of the community feeling underwhelmed.
Indeed, we acknowledge and sympathize with any apprehension you might have, as we embark on a project of unprecedented scale for us. Our expansive development team is dedicated to maintaining close communication with our players, ensuring they are always in the loop about our work, and providing them opportunities to contribute to the game’s tuning and balancing at a large scale.
