I’m thrilled to share that I’ve learned Go USA Entertainment has secured the North American rights for “Barron’s Cove,” an engrossing kidnapping drama starring Garrett Hedlund, Stephen Lang, Brittany Snow, and Hamish Linklater. Penned and helmed by Evan Ari Kelman, this captivating film had its world debut at the Hamptons International Film Festival and is set to premiere this summer.
As a cinephile, I’m drawn to “Barron’s Cove,” a gripping tale that finds me in the shoes of a tormented father (played by Hedlund), haunted by his past violent actions and the recent demise of his only child. Suspecting a cover-up, I take drastic measures, abducting a troubled boy – the son of a prominent local politician – whom I believe is responsible for my loss. The ensuing manhunt sets the stage for a thrilling chase. However, as my pursuit of truth intensifies, I question whether those in hot pursuit are safeguarding the boy or concealing the dark secrets he harbors. Joining me on this emotional rollercoaster are Christian Convery, Raúl Castillo, Tramell Tillman, Marc Menchaca, and John D. Hickman, who round out the exceptional cast.
In this production, Hedlund’s resume features “Mudbound” and the latest “Tulsa King”, while Lang has graced our screens in “Avatar” and “Don’t Breathe”. Snow’s claim to fame lies primarily in her roles from “Pitch Perfect”, and Linklater can be recognized from his appearances in “The Big Short” and “Midnight Mass”. The director of this movie, Kelman, is making his first appearance as a feature film director.
