In a groundbreaking move, “The Amazing Race” has grown even larger for its Season 37! Unlike the previous two seasons where it had 13 teams, this time it starts off with an impressive 14 teams participating. Historically, the show typically limited itself to 11 teams.
14 teams are joining “The Amazing Race” as part of what CBS is calling a “season full of surprises.” Each episode will feature unexpected twists that could potentially change the game. In addition to the usual “fast forward” and “U-turn” mechanics, some classic elements will return. Furthermore, this season introduces a new challenge called “fork in the road,” similar to the one encountered during the first leg in Hong Kong. The description explains that when teams reach the fork, they must decide which path and route they want to take to the pit stop, resulting in two separate races where two teams will be eliminated.
Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri, co-creators/executive producers, have revealed some details about this season’s obstacles. One of the locations they’ll visit is Osaka, Japan, where they’ll collaborate with a taiko drum ensemble, and leap from planes over Dubai. For the first time ever, they will also travel to Bulgaria, where they’ll participate in a traditional folk dance performance.
This season, an enchanting medieval village in Strasbourg, France, has been added to the travel itinerary,” the producers announced. “For a season filled with unexpected events, the excitement, plot twists, and suspense will continue unabated until we discover who emerges victorious.
I’m thrilled to share that Phil Keoghan remains the host of “The Amazing Race,” returning to our screens on Wednesday, March 5, at 9:30 p.m. ET on CBS. For those who have a Paramount+ subscription with Showtime, you can catch it live, while for essential subscribers, it will be available on demand the following day. Can’t wait to join Phil and the teams on another exciting adventure!
Here are the Season 37 teams competing on “The Amazing Race”:

65-year-old Jeff “Pops” Bailey and his 36-year-old son Jeff, both lumberjacks, hail from St. Louis, Missouri.
Or, in a more conversational tone:
Old man Jeff “Pops” Bailey (65) and his boy Jeff (36), who are both lumberjacks, come from good ol’ St. Louis, Missouri.

Scott Thompson, a 47-year-old physician assistant, and Lori Thompson, a 49-year-old home caregiver, are married and the proud parents of eight boys. Residing in Salt Lake City, Utah.
As a dedicated fan, I’d like to highlight that I admire the team behind “The Amazing Race.” This exhilarating series is masterfully crafted by Jerry Bruckheimer, Bertram van Munster, Elise Doganieri, Jonathan Littman, Phil Keoghan, Mark Vertullo, and Patrick Cariaga. The show’s creation is a collaboration between World Race Productions, Jerry Bruckheimer Television, ABC Studios, and Amazing Race Productions.
