From January onwards, The Series failed to secure a follow-up season, and the revival of Frasier was unfortunately canceled. As history has shown us, the ever-changing streaming environment means more shows will likely be terminated until the night Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper ring in the New Year while tipsy on CNN. In our ongoing effort to document these losses, we’d like to remind you that we will not include series concluding on their own accord (or so they claim). For instance, The Righteous Gemstones will be excluded because creator and lead actor Danny McBride stated in a press release that “the Lord instructed [him] to conclude this series” after four seasons. However, should McBride ever clarify that he meant HBO instead of the Lord, well… who knows? Here’s a running list of all the TV shows canceled in 2025.

The Franchise (HBO)

What’s the storyline? As stated in an official summary, The Franchise revolves around a group of underappreciated filmmakers battling for survival in a chaotic and lawless movie universe. Himesh Patel and Aya Cash portray key characters in this comedic satire that delves into the backstage world of superhero films production.

The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin (Apple TV+)

This British historical comedy, titled “Dick Turpin”, features Noel Fielding in the role of the infamous 18th-century highwayman Dick Turpin. However, as the title implies, it creatively deviates from the true account of Turpin’s adventures with his band of outlaws by incorporating some humorous twists and turns.

– When did it get canceled? Reports suggest that the show was axed on January 15 due to Noel Fielding’s absence from work. However, on January 17, a representative for Fielding confirmed the cancellation, stating it was related to his personal health issues.

Teacup (Peacock)

This horror series, produced by James Wan and set apart on a Georgia ranch, is a somewhat adapted version of Robert McCammon’s 1988 novel titled “Stinger”. In simpler terms, it’s based on the story from that book but with some changes.

Frasier (Paramount+)

Kelsey Grammer once again took on the character of Dr. Frasier Crane, the psychiatrist known from the show Cheers. The new series finds Frasier in Seattle after a divorce and working as a radio host.

The show was taken off the air on January 17. However, according to Deadline, CBS is attempting to find a new platform for the series.

How to Die Alone (Hulu)

In simpler terms, the series follows Natasha Rothwell’s character, Mel, who works at JFK Airport and is financially struggling, having never experienced love. After a close brush with death, she decides to seize life’s opportunities and embark on a journey of self-discovery and romantic exploration.

Number of seasons: Just one

Cancellation date: February 4th.

However, Rothwell expressed shock and sadness in a statement to Variety, stating that they are not ready to give up on finding another platform for the show.

Hysteria! (Peacock)

In the 1980s, amidst the hysteria known as the “satanic panic,” a gang of high school students feign Satanism to boost their heavy metal band’s popularity. Julie Bowen portrays one band member’s mother in this scenario.
