Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny Gets A Modern Remaster This Year

It’s been confirmed that Capcom will be reviving Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny with enhanced graphics for various platforms such as PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. This updated version is expected to launch in the year 2025.

In Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, the protagonist, Jubei Yagyu, embarks on a mission of vengeance against an army of demons commanded by Nobunaga Oda. The tragic event that set this journey in motion was the annihilation of the Yagyu clan by Nobunaga’s forces. Throughout his quest, Jubei encounters individuals with similar objectives and uncovers details about his oni lineage, which grants him abilities to vanquish Nobunaga’s demonic minions.

Initially launched on PlayStation 2 back in 2002, this game represents the second title from the series that has received a contemporary upgrade. Earlier, in 2018, Capcom had already given the first game of the series, Onimusha: Warlords, an updated version as well.

Presently, Capcom is developing the initial primary installment in the series since 2006, named Onimusha: Path of the Sword. As of now, the platforms for this game are unannounced, but it’s set to hit the market around 2026.

Akihito Kadokwaki, the producer, has recently shared some fresh details about the game. He mentioned that the game will primarily concentrate on three main elements: developing captivating characters, immersing players in the authentic Kyoto environment, and offering an unparalleled sword-fighting experience.
