Destiny 2: Episode Heresy – Best Builds For Hunter, Warlock, And Titan

The brand-new Destiny 2 episode, titled Heresy, is now available, bringing about a multitude of significant alterations to the game’s classes. Numerous adjustments to the Arc subclass and improvements throughout have opened up numerous opportunities for innovative builds. Here are three top-tier builds – one for Titan, Warlock, and Hunter – that make use of the new features as well as some unique combinations leveraging artifact perks. These suggestions provide advice on which Exotic weapons, Fragments, Aspects, and Supers to pair for an enjoyable and effective class setup.

Arc Warlock

Alterations made to the Arc subclass introduce a novel feature called “Bolt Charge,” an accumulating elemental damage bonus that releases a thunderous chain lightning blast when fully stacked. Various sources of damage, such as class skills and weaponry, contribute to filling up Bolt Charge stacks. This Warlock build focuses heavily on Arc damage from both weapons and abilities to maximize its potential.

One excellent option for armor Exotics is the Geomag Stabilizers. Prolonging your Chaos Reach Super duration increases Bolt Charge stacks, and dispersing Arc Damage is key to maximizing the latest mechanic – these boots are designed to aid in exactly that. The update coinciding with Heresy’s release modified Geomag Stabilizers to capitalize on Bolt Charge stacks: Sprinting close to peak stack levels will charge up the attack from Bolt Charge, ready for use.

As a fan, I can’t help but sing praises for the perfect companion for my build: the extraordinary Fusion Rifle, Delicate Tomb. This beauty not only generates Ionic Traces for Super energy, but also piles on more Bolt Charge stacks. In Episode Heresy, it received a boost, offering better chances to generate Ionic Traces and increased PvE damage. To top it off, the Tempest Cascade buff now persists until the weapon is fired!

For this construction, opt for the Stormcaller subclass, featuring the Chaos Reach Super, the Ball Lightning melee strike, and Flashbang Grenade. In terms of Aspects, elect the Electrostatic Mind to boost Ionic Trace production upon defeating targets that are Blinded or Jolted, while Ionic Sentry provides a self-operating turret. Defeating enemies with Arc abilities or weaponry accumulates charges for the Ionic Sentry, which can be activated by employing a Grenade attack.

As a gamer, I’d choose these Class Fragments for my build:

1. For boosted damage resistance when swarmed, I go for the “Spark of Resistance.”
2. To generate additional Ionic Traces from final blows with Arc weapons, I pick the “Spark of Discharge.”
3. If I want explosive, blinding effects on Heavy weapon or special final blows, I’d opt for the “Spark of Beacons.”
4. Lastly, to debuff targets hit by grenade attacks with a Jolt, I choose the “Spark of Shock.”

Glaive Titan

For fans who prefer hand-to-hand combat, this configuration is tailored for Titan players. Leveraging the latest enhancements to Destabilizing Rounds, where enemies explode after taking damage from Void weapons following a Void ability usage, this setup emphasizes intense, close combat scenarios.

For Titan players, it’s recommended to opt for the Synthoceps armor set in your exotic equipment when following this build. In tight spots surrounded by adversaries, you’ll receive boosts to both melee and Super damage, along with quicker weapon reload speeds and improved handling. When employing a Glaive, these melee enhancements are further amplified through the weapon’s close-quarter attacks.

A top-notch weapon to complement your setup is the unique Glaive, “Edge of Action,” from The Witch Queen expansion. Glaives offer both ranged and melee attacks, and given the importance of being surrounded, additional boosts from Synthoceps will only enhance its power. As the Glaive accumulates energy through ranged strikes, the special ability, Remote Shield, is activated when fully charged. The next shot fired will create a small protective dome shield wherever it’s aimed at the ground. Taking shelter within the shield provides additional protection, and any enemies that enter the shield bubble are temporarily blinded and slowed.

In the case of Titan subclasses, it’s advisable to utilize Sentinel in conjunction with Twilight Arsenal Super. While other Supers can be swapped in, Twilight Arsenal performs optimally for this build’s functionality. However, feel free to change it if preferred. For class traits, go with Controlled Demolition as your primary choice. This trait debuffs a target when they’re struck by a Void ability or another Volatile explosion, inflicting them with the Volatile status. Bastion serves as an excellent secondary choice due to its provision of a Void overshield upon using a Void Super.

In this build, the following Abilities are key:

1. “Echo of Exchange” – This ability provides grenade energy after a successful melee attack.
2. “Echo of Undermining” – This ability weakens targets hit by grenade attacks.
3. “Echo of Persistence” – This ability boosts Void-based buffs such as Overshield.
4. “Echo of Leeching” – Upon a melee kill, this ability starts healing the player and nearby allies.

Prismatic Hunter

This construction exploits an underexplored and largely unacknowledged interaction between two rarely used Exotic artifacts, resulting in widespread damage. By pairing this with the latest Bolt Charge mechanics, players can swiftly clear rooms and inflict significant damage on tougher enemies promptly.

In this design, you’ve got two prime options for exotic gear: the Mothkeeper’s Wraps gloves and the weapon known as Ex Diris. The Mothkeeper’s Wraps alter your grenade ability into a bomb that lets out two moths. One of these moths creates a tiny Void shield around you, while the other homes in on a close-by target before exploding, leaving enemies disoriented. On the other hand, Ex Diris is a unique grenade launcher that fires an extensive Arc projectile which detonates upon hitting its target. After scoring a kill or multiple direct hits, it activates a special trait, spawning another moth that seeks out nearby foes and explodes, causing disorientation. Furthermore, Ex Diris can fire quicker when dealing damage rapidly or if the player endures continuous damage over time and manages to stay alive.

In this scenario, the subclass you might prefer is Prismatic. For the grenade slot, any grenade can be utilized, but the top pick would be Strand Grapple. The melee attack for this setup performs optimally with Snare Bomb, which allows players to toss a small smoke bomb at a target, causing damage over time and disorienting them. This build benefits particularly from Aspects like Stylish Executioner and Threaded Specter. Stylish Executioner makes players invisible upon killing an opponent with either a grenade or melee ability, and the next melee attack while invisible weakens the target. Threaded Specter generates a Strand clone of the player when they use their dodge ability, which draws enemies to it before exploding after a few seconds.

1. The Aspect of Shielding enhances damage resistance when surrounded and its impact is even more potent when the Transcendence unique ability is activated.
2. The Aspect of Dawn awards players with Radiance upon a successful melee kill using powered strikes, which in turn amplifies weapon damage from Solar sources and provides a healing-over-time effect.
3. The Aspect of Intent grants an elemental barrier according to the chosen Super’s element.
4. The Aspect of Mastery causes Arc grenades to inflict Jolt on targets, which can be applied through Ex Diris and the Mothkeeper’s Wraps special explosives.
