As an avid anti-ager like myself, I found myself compelled to exit Nikhil Kamath’s captivating podcast prematurely due to the unfavorable air quality that permeated the room.
Bryan Johnson‘s pursuit for a personal health solution propelled him to adopt a stringent daily routine, encompassing the intake of more than 80 pills each day, aimed at counteracting the impacts of aging.
In 2021, an influencer focused on slowing down the aging process unearthed his plan dubbed ‘Project Blueprint’. This endeavor marked one of his initial efforts to decelerate the aging cycle. To achieve this, he underwent a series of six plasma transfusions, with one of the donors being his son in his teenage years.
47 years young, I found myself captivated by Johnson’s recent documentary, “Don’t Die: The Man Determined to Defy Death,” which dropped on Netflix in January 2025. This riveting tale delves deep into the controversial health methods my idol employs, such as genetic enhancements and rigorous therapies for his hearing and various other aspects of his body.
Eager to extend his lifespan, Johnson shared with NPR that he makes every effort to “reduce exposure to harmful substances in the environment.
While visiting India in February, the influencer chose to distance himself from harmful substances, leading him to abruptly end his appearance on Nikhil Kamath’s ‘WTF is’ podcast during its ongoing episode.
Even with Johnson donning an N95 mask and using an air purifier during the podcast recording, he felt that the air quality was still unacceptable enough for him to halt production unless he wanted to appear younger than his actual age.
While in India, the poor outdoor air quality necessitated an early wrap-up for the podcast. My wonderful host, @nikhilkamathcio, and I were enjoying ourselves immensely. Unfortunately, the room we occupied brought in polluted air from outside, rendering my portable air purifier useless. Indoors, despite our efforts…

Bryan Johnson says he broke out in a rash during trip to India
The influencer explained his thoughts extensively in a long tweet, asserting that spending around 24 hours inhaling Indian air is similar to puffing on approximately three cigarettes, contradicting his personal guidelines.
In India, Johnson decided to wrap up the podcast prematurely because of poor air quality. Nikhil Kamath was an accommodating host and we were enjoying ourselves, but unfortunately, the room we were in drew air from outside, rendering my portable air purifier useless.
Indoors, the Air Quality Index stood at 130, with PM2.5 levels reaching 75 micrograms per cubic meter – equivalent to inhaling smoke from over three cigarettes for a full day… This was my third day in India, and the air pollution had triggered a skin rash and caused discomfort in my eyes and throat.
As per the Air Quality Life Index, a project started by the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago, the air quality in India is severely polluted to an extent that it could potentially shorten one’s lifespan by several years just by breathing it.
As someone who’s deeply involved in gaming, I can relate to the passion that Johnsen displayed when he decided to exit Kamat’s podcast due to India’s poor air quality. It was quite impressive to see his understanding and awareness about the Air Quality Index of the country, a trait that resonates with many netizens like myself who care deeply about such global issues.
Despite some criticisms regarding his methods, Johnson’s documentary showcased the success of his anti-aging regimen. In essence, he claims to age approximately four months less each year, which lends credence to the effectiveness of his unusual approach.
