Molly Gordon, recognized primarily for her roles in “The Bear” and “Theater Camp,” is set to pen, guide, and appear in the forthcoming comedy titled “Peaked,” which will be produced by A24.
Based on the official synopsis, the movie focuses on “the two girls who caused you trouble in high school, as they attempt to recapture their former glory at their 10-year reunion.” Gordon is collaborating with her friend Allie Levitan on the script, who has recently joined the writing team for “Saturday Night Live.
24-Aidan (A24) is set to fund and create the upcoming movie titled “Peaked,” slated for filming this year. David Hinojosa, Zach Nutman from 2AM Productions, along with Gordon, will co-produce the project. Levitan will serve as executive producer. Topic Studios, who previously worked with Gordon on “Theater Camp,” will join A24 in financing the film.
Gordon and Levitan are teaming up on the Searchlight Pictures film titled “Small Parts.” Gordon is set to direct and co-write this movie with Levitan. This upcoming production, which is a modern twist on the 1987 hit comedy “Outrageous Fortune” starring Shelly Long and Bette Midler, began filming in May 2024; however, the specific release date for “Small Parts” has yet to be determined.
Gordon collaborated on writing, directing, and acting in the Sundance mockumentary “Theater Camp” alongside her friends Noah Galvin, Ben Platt, and Nick Leiberman. Her additional works include “Booksmart,” “Shiva Baby,” “You People,” and the upcoming comedy “Oh, Hi!”. Gordon is associated with talent agencies WME and Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman.
As a creative in the entertainment industry, I’ve had the privilege to work on television shows like “Our Cartoon President” with Stephen Colbert and an upcoming series on FX titled “Adults.” I’m honored to be represented by powerhouses such as WME, Rise Management, and Hansen Jacobson Teller. (I am Levitan, daughter of Steven Levitan, the creator of “Modern Family.”)
