Many enthusiastic players eager to dive into Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC encountered some rather annoying problems. The system specifications suggested that the game would operate smoothly even on less powerful systems, but unfortunately, it either became unplayable, suffered from poor performance, or caused GPU crashes. Some AMD users noticed enhancements after updating their drivers, however, RX 580 owners faced an additional hurdle to overcome.
AMD RX 580 GPU problems
Despite being somewhat older, the AMD RX 580 graphics card delivers satisfactory performance in numerous games, even some contemporary titles. It may not always maintain a steady 60 frames per second during high-intensity scenes, but it remains a suitable choice. This is particularly evident when playing Spider-Man 2 on PC as it still meets the minimum system specifications. However, its main drawback currently resides with its driver performance.
As an enthusiastic AMD user, I’ve found myself in a bit of a pickle with my beloved Radeon RX 580 not playing nicely with some games due to crashes. I was hoping for a quick fix from AMD with their latest drivers, version 25.1.1, which have been a godsend for many other users. However, it seems my RX 580 wasn’t included in this update, as the most recent drivers available for me are the 24.9.1 from last October in 2024.
I had hoped that AMD would address these game-breaking bugs with a hotfix, but alas, it was not meant to be. Fortunately, there’s some good news on the horizon! It appears that an update for Spider-Man 2 has emerged and seems to have resolved this issue for RX 580 users. Now, I can finally immerse myself in the action-packed world of Spidey once more!
