Was there anyone who watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer and felt, “This show is quite good, but there’s just too much focus on Buffy”? (It should be noted that Dawn, a character who continued to inspire sympathetic articles even 17 years later, was generally not well-liked.) Hulu is developing a new version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer where Buffy Summers will no longer be the central character. Instead, the show will focus on a new slayer, with Buffy appearing as a supporting character. Sarah Michelle Gellar has agreed to participate in “the next phase of the Buffyverse,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sisters Nora and Lilla Zuckerman (known for Poker Face) are said to be writing the series, while Chloé Zhao, an Academy Award winner, will direct. Jane Schoenbrun from I Saw the TV Glow may also be involved in the project.
