The Last Of Us Season 2 Will Introduce A Character Who Was Only Mentioned In The Games

HBO’s series “The Last of Us” is set to resume with its second season, as it starts bringing the storyline of “The Last of Us Part II” to life on screen. Although the new season will introduce significant characters from the sequel, it will also present a brand-new character who was merely referenced in the game.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the showrunner and co-creator of The Last of Us, Neil Druckmann, mentioned that there is a significant character in this season who receives a lot of attention, much like Frank [Murray Bartlett] did in season 1. He hinted at an exciting casting choice for this role, which we might get to hear about soon.

Druckmann and fellow showrunner Craig Mazin refrained from revealing any extra information about the enigmatic character or who will portray them. Instead, they clarified why the on-screen version of Abby (performed by Kaitlyn Dever) won’t exhibit the same level of muscularity as her video game counterpart. Moreover, they hinted at the possibility of unconventional timelines in the upcoming second season.

Mazin clarified, “We won’t strictly adhere to how time was handled in the original story, but we’ve made changes that seemed fitting for our series. By ‘messing around,’ I mean we strategically manipulated time from a storytelling perspective to create the most significant effects.

Although HBO hasn’t specified an exact release date for The Last of Us Season 2, we’re expecting it to premiere in April. On April 3rd specifically, The Last of Us Part II Remastered will become available on PC. Naughty Dog hasn’t made an official announcement about The Last of Us Part 3 yet, but they are believed to be working on it concurrently with their upcoming game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
