On the upcoming Season 20 of “America’s Got Talent,” Mel B is set to rejoin the judges, with the premiere airing on NBC at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27.

Previously a member of the Spice Girls, Mel B steps into Heidi Klum’s role following her departure after 11 non-sequential seasons. Mel B now collaborates with judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara. Terry Crews returns for his seventh season to host this nationwide talent competition.

Tryouts for Season 20 of “America’s Got Talent” are happening right now, providing both virtual and in-person chances for budding talents to shine. On February 6, Howard Mandel will host a comedy showcase audition at The Ice House in Pasadena, California. Meanwhile, Sofie Dossi, a finalist from “AGT,” will oversee virtual auditions on February 25. An in-person open call is scheduled for March 10 at the Pasadena Civic Center.

Mel B made her debut as a judge on “America’s Got Talent” during Season 8 in 2013. She was seated alongside Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Howard Stern. After six seasons, she left the show in 2018, later returning to judge the spinoff series “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” and “America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League.

Judge and executive producer Cowell expressed his excitement in a statement, noting that this year marks our 20th season. Over the years, we’ve been privileged to witness extraordinary talents and meet truly remarkable individuals. It’s undeniable that just two or three minutes can alter your destiny. I’d like to express my gratitude to every contestant, the fans who have consistently supported us throughout the years, NBC for their unwavering faith in our show, and last but not least, the incredible team, both past and present, who make this show so unique. As always, I can’t wait to meet this year’s contestants.

Over 70 regional adaptations of the “Got Talent” concept have been created in Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas, along with numerous spin-offs. On all social media platforms combined, “AGT” (America’s Got Talent) has garnered over 26 billion video views, according to NBC. In September of this year, Richard Goodall, a singer who was working as a janitor at a middle school, emerged victorious in Season 19 of “America’s Got Talent.” Some former acts from “AGT” continue to perform on the Las Vegas Strip, including Terry Fator, Piff the Magic Dragon, Shin Lim, Mat Franco, Vicki Barbolak, and Tape Face.
