In a recently released White House video, the administration headed by Trump criticized Selena Gomez following her Instagram post where she shared a video of herself weeping over the deportation of unauthorized immigrants by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Gomez swiftly removed the initial post after facing backlash from conservative influencers. In a subsequent post, she commented, “I guess it’s not acceptable to express compassion.” However, videos of Gomez crying continue to be shared across the internet. On Friday, an official White House post emerged, titled “Mothers of Victims of Illegal Aliens Criticize Selena Gomez: You Didn’t Shed Tears for Our Daughters.” This post features edited segments from Gomez’s original video, alongside reactions from three women who claim their children were murdered by undocumented individuals.
Gomez expressed her deep apologies in an Instagram Story video on Monday, stating that she’s deeply troubled by the harm inflicted upon innocent children. She confessed she doesn’t understand the situation and conveyed her sincere sympathies. She wishes she could help but feels helpless. She pledges to exhaust every possible solution and make every effort.”
Or simply:
“In an Instagram Story video, Gomez expressed her sorrow over the harm inflicted upon children, wishing she could do something but feeling helpless. She vowed to try everything possible.
“In the video, it’s almost unconvincing that what we’re seeing is authentic and not staged, as she’s an actress,” Alexis Nungaray states. Later on, Tammy Nobles expresses her joy, saying, “I’m thrilled Trump won, and I’m delighted that this bill is among the first to address immigration issues.
In the video, Patty Morin expresses her belief that it’s all a trick to fool people and gain sympathy for illegal activities.
Gomez’s representation was not immediately available for comment.
