In contrast to many contemporary games that include microtransactions, the forthcoming title Mouse P.I. for Hire stands out as one without any microtransactions at all. The game developers have made it clear to players that this humorous first-person shooter will remain free of microtransaction elements entirely.
On the game’s main Twitter page, its developers have assured fans that they will deliver a thrilling, single-player, film noir-inspired first-person shooter (FPS) free from microtransactions. This means that once players purchase the game, they can play it without any additional in-game purchases.
The game “Mouse: PI for Hire” won’t involve any in-game purchases or transactions. Instead, it will offer an exciting single-player experience with a noir theme, packed with action as a first-person shooter. We’re putting all our passion into this project ❤️💚.

Created by Fumi Games and PlaySide Studios, this shooter game boasts a timeless cartoon design reminiscent of the Fleisher Studios from the 1930s. In the role-playing experience, you assume the persona of Private Investigator Jack Pepper navigating through the gritty and crime-laden city of Mouseburg.
The story opens with what appears to be a typical damsel-in-distress scenario, but as detective Pepper delves deeper into Mouseburg’s shady side, his pursuit of justice becomes entangled in a labyrinth of mystery, encompassing murder, corruption, and unexpected adversaries.
Judging from the video clips and previews, the gameplay seems reminiscent of old-school Doom or Duke Nukem, and it appears that Pepper’s voice is quite similar to Duke. The weaponry leans towards over-the-top cartoonish violence, featuring not only tommy guns and shotguns but also whimsical-looking bazookas, resulting in enemies falling in a mix of comical and brutal ways.
Mouse: Private Investigator for Hire is set to arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, but there’s no confirmed release date as of yet. You can add it to your wishlist on Steam, where it’s rumored to launch in 2025.
