Devil May Cry Animated Series Opening Credits Go “Rollin’, Rollin’, Rollin'”

Based on the success of Castlevania and Tomb Raider: Lara Croft, Netflix will soon delve into another video game adaptation – this time focusing on Capcom’s Devil May Cry series. Although an anime series was produced in 2007 for this supernatural action franchise, the opening credits of the upcoming show hint that it promises to be even more exhilarating.

Interestingly, the opening credits feature Limp Bizkit’s Rollin’, a tune that was once associated with WWE’s Undertaker during his American Badass period about two decades back. This song appears fitting for Dante, the main character of Devil May Cry, given its energy matches his manic personality, especially when he pauses from slaying demons to enjoy a pizza break.

Adi Shankar, known for executive producing Netflix’s initial Castlevania animated series and Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, is taking on the same position in Devil May Cry along with Seung Wook Lee and Hideaki Itsuno. Studio Mir, a production company well-known among American fans for their work on X-Men ’97, Harley Quinn, My Adventures with Superman, is handling the animation for this series.

On April 3rd, Netflix is set to premiere the first season of Devil May Cry. As of now, no further seasons have been announced following 2019’s Devil May Cry 5, but if the reception to this show is strong enough, it might persuade Capcom to bring the series back once more.
