David Jonsson to Star in Frank Ocean’s Directorial Debut Film (EXCLUSIVE)

David Jonsson is taking on the main character for Frank Ocean’s upcoming directorial premiere movie, and filming has already started in Mexico City. The title of this independent production is still undisclosed, and specific storyline information is being kept secret.

In recent times, a promising young actor from Britain has been cast as the joint lead in Ridley Scott’s movie “Alien: Romulus,” sharing the screen with Cailee Spaeny. This role has earned him widespread acclaim and praise.

In 2024, he was featured on both EbMaster’s list of “10 Actors to Keep an Eye On” and The Hollywood Reporter’s “Next Gen Talent” list. Furthermore, in 2025, he received a nomination for the Rising Star Award at the EE BAFTA Film Awards, which is chosen by the public. Previously, he had appeared in the film “Rye Lane,” produced by Searchlight Pictures and helmed by director Raine Allen Miller. This movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was also nominated for “Outstanding British Film” at the BAFTA Film Awards.

Upcoming projects for Jonsson include “Wasteman,” where he’ll be acting alongside Tom Blyth, as well as Stephen King’s “The Long Walk” opposite Cooper Hoffman, both produced by Lionsgate.
