In 2023, there was an unexpected twist on the classic Dracula character in the movie Renfield. Normally known as Dracula’s unfortunate servant, this time Renfield took center stage. Starring Nicolas Cage, the film became a surprise success among critics and fans alike. A new 4K steelbook version of it is coming out in April, and you can preorder it now on Walmart for $33.
If you can’t wait until April for the premium 4K steelbook release of Renfield, you have the option to grab the movie immediately – even without the fancy new steelbox case. You can get the standard Blu-ray version for a budget-friendly $10 or opt for the 4K Collector’s Edition priced at $40 on Amazon now.

If you prefer a modern interpretation of the traditional Dracula story, consider the latest Nosferatu remake starring Nicholas Hoult and Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok (a.k.a. Nosferatu, the wicked vampire). This film is directed by Robert Eggers and has been lauded by critics for its accurate reinterpretation of the 1922 original movie, which was essentially a unique adaptation of the classic Dracula tale. You can now pre-order the 4K Blu-ray release, including a Limited Edition Steelbook version. There’s also a standard 4K Blu-ray edition available for pre-order.
If you’re in search of additional vampire movies to watch, we’ve compiled a list of other options to expand your Blu-ray library. Standout choices include Mel Brooks’ 1995 production, Dracula: Dead and Loving It, a comedy take on Bram Stoker’s original work starring the late Leslie Nielsen as the vampire lord. You can purchase the Blu-ray for $25 on Amazon.
Moving onto a more serious discussion about vampires in films, it’s hard to imagine a list of blockbuster bloodsuckers without Blade. The character played by Wesley Snipes is still considered the ultimate cool vampire-hunter. Given the ongoing complications with the MCU Blade movie, it seems this version of the character might be all we get. You can purchase a 4K edition of Blade in both standard and steelbook packaging. If you’re interested in owning the entire series, there’s a regular Blu-ray box set of Blade available, containing the original movie, its terrific sequel, and Blade 3 – though the third disc might make a handy drinks coaster.
Other films in this vampire genre that you might enjoy are Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula movie, where you can chuckle at Keanu Reeves trying out a British accent, the cult classic The Lost Boys, the action-packed Dracula Untold, and The Last Voyage of the Demeter for another chilling interpretation of Bram Stoker’s famous literary character. If you prefer the timeless portrayal of Dracula, there’s the movie featuring Christopher Lee as the terrifying vampire, and for a bit of action-packed entertainment, don’t forget Van Helsing starring Hugh Jackman as the monster hunter.
