I’ve been enjoying some amazing gaming moments on my PlayStation all these years, and it was a blast when they celebrated their 30th anniversary last December! They released some fantastic PS5 themes to mark the occasion, and I’ve been using them proudly ever since. However, sadly, those themes will be disappearing from my console tomorrow, January 31. But don’t worry, they won’t be gone forever; I’m looking forward to their return in the future!
On Twitter, PlayStation expressed gratitude for the great feedback on their limited-time console themes for classic systems like PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4. They mentioned that these themes will no longer be available starting tomorrow. However, due to the positive reception, they are working hard to reintroduce these unique designs again in the upcoming months.
Appreciate your enthusiasm for our limited-time PlayStation themes featuring classic models like PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4. Unfortunately, they’ll be disappearing from our offerings tomorrow. However, we’re working on some updates to bring these unique designs back to you soon!

On the other hand, PlayStation has made it clear that they currently don’t intend to develop new themes moving forward. Despite being originally time-limited, fans of PlayStation have been requesting these anniversary themes to become permanent fixtures.
Users can effortlessly transition among various themes, each embodying aspects of PlayStation’s iconic hardware from different eras. For instance, the PS1 theme exhibits parts of the original gray case, while the PS2 theme subtly hints at its 3D block design. The PS3 theme, meanwhile, features a horizontal screen layout reminiscent of the XMB (Cross Media Bar) interface on that console.
It appears that PS5 users are unable to utilize additional themes beyond the 30th-anniversary collection at this time, despite a strong interest in themes for the PS5. For now, gamers can modify their PS5’s Welcome Hub as an alternative to customizing themes.
In other updates regarding PlayStation, they are abolishing the need for a PSN account for certain games on PC, and starting from April 1st, there will be a single CEO at PlayStation.
