In a surprising turn of events, No Man’s Sky has returned with an update called Worlds Part 2. This is a continuation from the first part which was released in July 2024. The developers have added engine improvements, fresh quests, and additional minerals to the game this time around. Among these new resources, you can now discover Quartzite and Activated Quartzite. Wondering how to obtain them?

How to get Quartzite and Activated Quartzite in NMS

Quartzite and Activated Quartzite are similar to gas giants, which are newly introduced planets in the Worlds Part 2. However, these need to be unlocked first. To do this, complete the new questline that will open up the purple star systems. We’ve prepared a separate guide for additional information. Once you gain access to the new worlds, you can begin your search for the minerals.

  1. Quartzite is most commonly located on the moons orbiting gas giants.
  2. Activated Quartzite, on the other hand, is always found on the surface of the gas giants.

I regret to inform you that we’re experiencing an issue with our Mineral Extractors. This bug makes it challenging to initiate mining operations for the materials you need, such as Quartzite. There are two possible situations:

1. The machine may incorrectly show it’s full before the extraction of Quartzite even begins.
2. Or, the process might seem to start but the storage and extraction rate may not function correctly.

At present, we don’t have a fix for this problem. Therefore, I advise you to be patient and keep an eye out for future updates. In the meantime, the most viable workaround is to gather Quartzite and Activated Quartzite manually.
