Comedian Sabrina Brier is transforming her audiobook into a television series. Known primarily for her TikTok presence and a guest role on “Abbott Elementary,” Brier’s work is now being developed by Awesomeness TV as the TV show, “That Girl.” The story is based on Brier’s comedic persona from her audiobook. Brier expressed her excitement about this new venture, stating, “I am delighted to carry forward the tale of ‘That Friend,’ whose narrative originated from online short-form content and grew into a full-cast audiobook. I am incredibly grateful for the chance to partner with the talented team at Awesomeness TV to expand the universe of something, or rather someone, that is deeply personal to me.
Initially, the character appeared frequently on Brier’s TikTok account. Subsequently, it evolved into an audiobook featuring stars such as Danielle Brooks, Nicola Coughlan, Lukas Gage, and Rachel Dratch and Zegler. The upcoming series centers around a young New Yorker who aims to launch a podcast while maintaining close relationships with her three best friends. If the plot of ‘And Just Like That’ were established during the time of ‘The Carrie Diaries’, it remains uncertain where the show will ultimately be distributed. However, Awesomeness TV has collaborated with Netflix, Hulu, and Nickelodeon, as well as producing their own YouTube series.
