One of these surprises will be incorporated into the platformer game remaster Yooka-Replaylee, which initially launched with “refreshed challenges reimagined,” an interactive map, a “sparkling new currency,” and numerous customization possibilities for gaming’s beloved duo – the favorite pair.
Regarding the upcoming surprise, it’s going to be a gleaming character resembling a platformer icon, who will be joining forces with Yooka and Laylee in an assistive role. However, the exact arrival date of this radiant knight, also known as the legendary shiny knight, is yet to be disclosed by Playtonic. For now, players can add Yooka-Replaylee to their Wishlist on consoles and PC, as it is currently not yet released.

On January 28th, 2025, it was announced by Playtonic Games that the renowned platformer character, Shovel Knight, is set to team up with Yooka and Laylee in the upcoming remaster titled Yooka-Replaylee. This remaster, initially announced in June 2024, will be published by Team17 and will soon captivate audiences on consoles and PC, with pre-ordering options available now.
The news is out – Shovel Knight is making a comeback in Yooka-Replaylee! The game looks fantastic with a fresh new look and an upgraded shovel. Additionally, there will be a revised challenge designed specifically for the buddy duo.
