Destiny 2 Is Getting Star Wars Gear In Latest Crossover Collaboration

The epic saga of Destiny is teaming up with a major science fiction franchise for some exciting crossover action! This collaboration becomes possible due to Bungie’s recent partnership with Lucasfilm, which will introduce Star Wars elements into Destiny 2.

Starting on February 4, along with the Destiny 2: Heresy update, we will introduce Star Wars-themed content. This includes fresh armor ornaments, accessories, emotes, and finishers, all inspired by the epic universe of Star Wars. To be more precise, each Guardian class will receive one armor ornament reminiscent of soldiers from the Galactic Empire. For a sneak peek at the new armors, check out the image provided below.

Previously, Destiny 2 has incorporated several popular franchises through licensing agreements such as The Witcher, Mass Effect, and Assassin’s Creed. However, Star Wars stands out as the most prominent crossover thus far.

On January 28th, during a live broadcast, Bungie revealed a Star Wars crossover and additional content. Additionally, they confirmed that the Dreadnaught will be reappearing in Destiny 2: Heresy, which serves as the final chapter of the Light and Darkness saga.

As a gamer, I’m pumped about the return of the Dreadnought in Destiny 2! It’s not just coming back, it’s changing, and we’re going to explore it like never before. This colossal ship has been quiet for nearly a decade, but now it’s stirring, catching the attention of the Vanguard and us Guardians across the system. We’ve finally got the chance to uncover what secrets lie within its halls since Oryx was defeated, leaving it abandoned without a Navigator. It’s going to be an exciting journey!

2024 saw major transformations at Bungie as they announced layoffs on a large scale and restructuring, leading some employees to join a new team within parent company Sony to develop a fresh title. Simultaneously, Bungie continues to support Destiny 2 while also working on projects like Marathon and a game that draws inspiration from frogs and humor.
