Amelia Dimoldenberg, a British comedian, producer, and host of “Chicken Shop Date,” is set to reprise her role for the 97th Oscars’ social media campaign. She will serve as both social media ambassador and red carpet correspondent. During the awards season, she will engage in numerous events, such as conducting interviews with nominees and celebrities on the Oscars red carpet.
Jennifer Davidson, head of marketing and communication at the Academy, expressed excitement about Amelia returning as our Social Media Ambassador and Red Carpet Correspondent. This means she’ll give viewers an exclusive look into the Oscars. Amelia’s popularity worldwide and her distinct style captivated audiences, and we can’t wait to share her friendly and entertaining take on the Oscars event with everyone.”
The original statement has been rewritten in a more conversational tone, maintaining the same meaning while using simpler words and phrases.)
As a devoted cinephile, I can’t help but marvel at the success of “Chicken Shop Date,” the engaging interview web series that Dimoldenberg masterfully hosts and Dimz Inc., his brilliant production company, brings to life. With an impressive 2.83 million subscribers, a staggering 668 million views, and an astounding 27 million hours of content consumed on YouTube, this series has truly captivated the hearts of viewers worldwide.
On March 2nd, I’ll be tuning in to ABC at 4 p.m. Pacific Time for the live broadcast of the Oscars from the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. The official red carpet show kicks off an hour earlier, at 3:30 p.m. PT. Can’t wait to see who takes home the golden statuette!
Netflix and Amazon Join AFCI Advisory Board
Netflix, Amazon MGM have become part of the consultative group for the International Association of Film Commissioners (IAFC), a worldwide association that represents government film offices.
Two prominent streaming platforms have been added to an existing board, which currently consists of representatives from Disney, Sony, Warner Bros., NBCUniversal, as well as Lionsgate and Paramount.
The AFCI (Association of Film Commissioners International) unites film commissioners globally to stay informed about industry developments. These commissioners work on attracting film productions to their respective regions by acting as intermediaries with local governments and promoting their tax incentives to big studios. Essentially, they aim to bring production opportunities to their states or countries. The organization arranges an annual conference, which will take place in Cincinnati this September, along with other events throughout the year.
The advisory board largely consists of production executives from the major studios.
This Monday, it was revealed that Rochelle Bussey from the New Mexico Film Office, Henrik JP Akesson Ruben representing the Southern Sweden Film Commission, and Donne Dawson hailing from the Hawaii State Film Office were all elected to serve on the board of directors for the AFCI.
The board chose to keep its existing leadership team in place. Marnie Gee from Creative BC continues as the chairperson, with Luke Azevedo from the Calgary Film Office serving as vice-chairperson. Nina Parikh of the Mississippi Film Office holds the position of second vice-chairperson. Gina Black, representing the Gold Coast Film Commission, is still the secretary, and Steven Davenport from Screen Ireland remains the treasurer.
