Rumors of God of War in Egypt resurface after well-known insider returned to the topic

One key brand in Sony’s collection is God of War, which has built a devoted fanbase over time. In 2022, the installment titled Ragnarok was released, marking what seemed to be the conclusion of the Norse tale. However, Kratos’ journey may not be at an end, as suggested by last year’s job posting. Recently, whispers have surfaced online hinting at a potential change in the series’ setting.

Kratos visits Egypt?

Based on recent whispers, it’s believed that Sony might be developing a God of War game inspired by Egyptian folklore. This info was shared by industry insider Daniel Richtman through his Patreon account, although it has since been spread among various online platforms.

In a fascinating twist, Sony is recruiting Middle Eastern performers for what appears to be their upcoming A-list video game, possibly following in the footsteps of the highly acclaimed God of War series, as it delves into the mysteries of ancient Egyptian lore.

It’s intriguing that the creator of the series, Cory Barlog, hinted as early as 2018 that there could be other civilizations beyond what we’ve seen so far in the series. Given that this was discussed before the release of the fourth installment, these ideas seemed quite far-fetched at the time. However, with the latest installment out, the possibility of encountering gods like Osiris, Set, or Anubis in Kratos’ future adventures suddenly seems plausible.

Although the news appears exciting, remember that Sony has not yet verified it. Thus, it would be prudent to maintain a degree of skepticism or caution until the Japanese corporation provides official confirmation.

The action-adventure video game, “God of War: Ragnarok,” made its debut on November 9, 2022, for both PS4 and PS5 consoles. Approximately two years following its release, it was also introduced to PC platforms. To this day, no official announcement has been made regarding the next installment in the series. In recent updates, it’s been reported that Bluepoint Games studio may have discontinued the game-service for this title.
