On January 14th, a special event titled “Behind The Sims” took place, during which EA Maxis studio shared their plans for celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Sims series. Although the show left fans feeling disheartened, there’s now renewed optimism among them that they will soon receive something they’ve longed for.
Based on our discussion about the stream, we discovered that the period between January 27th and 31st is referred to as “Nostalgia Time.” However, we couldn’t determine the exact meaning or context behind this enigmatic phrase.
Up until now, the community of The Sims has been observing that as of today, the official website for the series has undergone an update. This update includes a graphic featuring a character from the initial game against a backdrop reminiscent of the interaction wheel from The Sims 2.
Not only that, but also a 10-second teaser was unveiled below, featuring crystals symbolizing the emotions of Sims from both the original and sequel games. The post carries the caption: “BRB” (short for ‘Be Right Back’).
It seems quite plausible that the widespread assumption about “Time for Nostalgia” is correct. This would imply Electronic Arts plans to re-release remastered versions of the first two games from The Sims series. Unlike The Sims 3 and The Sims 4, these older titles haven’t been on sale for a while. Running their physical editions on modern computers can sometimes be tricky due to compatibility issues with current operating systems.
Without a doubt, EA Maxis will unveil their plans by January 31st as “Time for Nostalgia” concludes. If not, fans can look forward to the news during the stream set for February 4th at 2:00 p.m. PT, so it seems that you won’t have to wait much longer.
