For many years, Dungeons & Dragons has inspired numerous books, but among the most acclaimed are the initial Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy penned by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis. Soon, enthusiasts can relive these novels as a new Dragonlance Chronicles hardcover omnibus compilation is set to release, which will be the first reprint of the books in several years. The book becomes available on February 4, and preorders are currently being offered at a reduced price of $31.50 (originally $35) on Amazon.
This fantasy series is developed around the authentic Dragonlance campaign setting for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (1st and 2nd editions). Originating from Hickman and Weis’ D&D sessions in the early ’80s, it unfolds as a high fantasy story centered on a group of adventurers entangled in a grand struggle called the War of the Lance. Simultaneously published were numerous other official Dragonlance-themed works for Dungeons & Dragons, such as adventure modules, board games, video games, and more.
Initially, the Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy was the main narrative for the initial AD&D Dragonlance game supplements. However, subsequent versions of D&D have also produced official modules and expansions within the Dragonlance universe, like the current Fifth Edition. Besides the official game resources, it has led to over 190 additional novels, including two sequels to the original trilogy – “Dragonlance Chronicles: The Second Generation” and “Dragons of Summer Flame”. Sadly, the physical versions of both books are out of stock, but you can purchase Kindle and audiobook editions of “Summer Flame” on Amazon.
