Tan France has joined the the cast of Hulu’s upcoming comedy series “Deli Boys” as a guest star.
Making his debut in a scripted TV performance, he is set to portray the character of Zubair, a powerful figure leading a South London gang of British Pakistani descent. This character is known for being intelligent, imposing, and always impeccably dressed.
In the movie “Deli Boys”, the story unfolds when the father of two spoiled Pakistani-American brothers, who own a convenience store, suddenly passes away. This unexpected event strips them of everything they’ve ever had, pushing them into uncovering their late father’s hidden life as a criminal mastermind in the underworld. As they try to carry on his legacy, they confront the secrets of their ‘Baba’s’ illicit activities. The main characters are played by Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh as brothers Mir and Raj, with additional appearances by Poorna Jagannathan, Alfie Fuller, and Brian George.
France is primarily recognized for his role as a member of the “Fab Five” on Netflix’s hit unscripted makeover show “Queer Eye,” where he specializes in fashion. Additionally, he co-hosts the design competition series “Next in Fashion” alongside Gigi Hadid, produced by Netflix. Prior to this, France has hosted various shows such as the U.K. revival of “Say Yes to the Dress,” Netflix’s SAG Awards Pre-Show, and others. He is represented by United Talent Agency and Nixon Peabody LLP.
Deli Boys” was originated by Abdullah Saeed, further developed by Jenni Konner and Nora Silver under Jenni Konner Productions. Michelle Nader assumes the role of showrunner, also serving as an executive producer alongside Saeed, Konner, and Silver. The pilot episode is directed by Nisha Ganatra, who is also an executive producer. Vali Chandrasekaran serves as a non-writing executive producer during the production of the pilot. The series originates from Onyx Collective and is produced by 20th Television.
