It’s been disclosed that Jurassic World Rebirth incorporates an untouched sequence from the book, potentially leading viewers to witness the most harrowing dinosaur assault throughout the series.
Initially inspired by the terrifying dinosaur-themed novel penned by Michael Crichton, the Jurassic Park film franchise has grown to include six movies, and a seventh instalment titled “Jurassic Park: Rebirth” is set to premiere in July 2025.
5 years following Dominion, Rebirth focuses on a group of researchers who embark on a mission to locate and collect the DNA of the last remaining dinosaurs, a discovery that could revolutionize healthcare.
During an interview with Variety, screenwriter David Koepp (known for writing the initial two Jurassic Park films) has verified that the upcoming movie will feature a scene from the book that was omitted in the original 1993 science fiction film – for a clear and apparent reason.
Jurassic World Rebirth could include infamous crib scene
Koepp mentioned that he re-read the two books to get himself back into the right frame of mind. Some elements were drawn from these stories. A scene from the initial novel was something they had always desired for the original film, but lacked space to include.”
Or more casually:
“Koepp confessed he revisited the two books to get back in the groove. We pulled a few things from those tales. There was a scene in the first book that we’ve always wanted for the original movie, but didn’t have enough space for.
Initially, our reaction was, ‘Great, we can finally utilize it!’ Fast forwarding 30 years, I must admit, I wondered if the excitement had faded. To my delight, the answer remains a resounding yes – dinosaurs continue to be just as fascinating.
Of course, ever since then, fans have been discussing what this enigmatic scene might represent. While the initial Jurassic Park film left out numerous instances from the book, one scene that has sparked much debate among viewers for decades is the unsettling crib scene.
The event unfolds early in the narrative, focusing on a band of Procompsognathus feeding on a baby in its crib. Such a scene would undoubtedly elevate Jurassic Park to an R-rating, but fans continue to speculate that this could be the scene being referred to as a possible addition.
1 User exclaimed, “Could you enact the baby scene, please?” The other user responded with concern, “They’re going to take the baby, it seems.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but feel that the ‘baby in the crib’ scene was undoubtedly a bold move back in 1993. However, it seems that today’s audience might find it more acceptable.

Alternatively, it might be a different passage from the book altogether. A frequently proposed scenario is the white-knuckle ride down the park’s river on a raft, where Grant and the children navigate through dangerous dinosaur encounters along the way.
Someone commented, ‘We’re witnessing a riverboat chase!’ Meanwhile, another user exclaimed, ‘I hope it becomes like the T-Rex rapids scene!’
Jurassic World Rebirth will be released in theaters on July 2, 2025.
