Dave Franco and Alison Brie Won’t Give Each Other Acting Notes on Set, Champion Demi Moore’s Oscar Nom: ‘Actors in Horror Movies Are Doing So Much’

Dave Franco and Alison Brie, who tied the knot in 2017, are ready to send shivers down spines at the Sundance Film Festival with their new horror movie “Together.” The dynamic duo recently sat down for a chat about their latest project at the EbMaster Studio, an event presented by Audible during Sundance.

Franco expressed that they really enjoy working as a team and wish to continue doing so. They feel like they’re breaking rules when given the chance to act together, as it feels exhilarating for some reason. Their chemistry is exceptional; they feel at ease with each other which allows them to explore more creative possibilities. If one of them slips up and delivers an inauthentic performance, the other catches it instantly, pushing them to deliver their best work.

Franco and Brie always avoid providing each other acting advice on film sets since they aim to avoid causing offense. As Brie put it: “We never exchange notes because…it’s just like yuck, I can sense when something wasn’t authentic, and I know Franco understands that too.

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that the captivating film titled “Together” is set to make its world premiere in the Midnight section of Sundance’s lineup, and it’s been penned by the talented Michael Shanks. In this chilling tale, Franco and Brie portray a couple grappling with their strained relationship after opting for rural isolation over city life. They’ve shared that they eagerly anticipate embarking on separate projects following their collaboration on such an intense movie.

Franco expressed, “We aim to avoid overwhelming our team members. It’s beneficial for everyone when we take a break, recharge, and then look forward to collaborating once more with renewed enthusiasm.

Brie mentioned, “Working independently has its perks since it allows us to stay independent. Moreover, I find Dave’s work fascinating, so it’s enjoyable watching others produce their own work. Collaborating with different people is also beneficial and adds a fresh perspective to life.

Actors find playing in horror films particularly gratifying as it demands the most intense acting possible, leading Franco to exclaim “The Substance,” and Demi Moore’s Oscar-worthy portrayal. Few horror movies or their acting performances receive recognition from the Academy.

Franco commented, ‘It’s great that Demi Moore is getting her due recognition.’ He added, ‘Horror movie actors truly put in a lot of effort!’

“The stakes have never been higher,” Brie added. “She’s incredible. It’s awesome.”
