Many Battlefield 6 players have noticed that, despite aiming accurately, their shots aren’t always registering as hits. Since the game came out on October 10th, players have been sharing videos and experiences of this bug causing them to lose battles online.

PC Gamer reports that Battlefield 6 is currently experiencing a frustrating bug with its weapon bloom. Normally, bloom – which makes weapons less accurate the longer you fire – should only affect sustained firing and longer-range combat. However, players are seeing this inaccuracy happen immediately, no matter how quickly they shoot or how close they are to their targets.

Players are frequently losing battles they would normally win, and the game isn’t clearly showing them when they’ve hit their opponents. For example, enemies might appear to be damaged without any confirmation, like a hit marker, while players are shooting at them.

However, Florian Le Bihan, a designer on the Battlefield team, says they fixed that original bug. It turns out this new problem is actually two separate issues causing inaccurate aiming – sometimes your shots will spread more than they should, according to Le Bihan.

After realizing how many players were affected by the bloom bug, Le Bihan has been collecting information to help the Battlefield team figure out what’s causing it. So far, they haven’t found a specific weapon causing the problem, but Le Bihan’s comments hint that the team thinks certain combinations of weapon attachments might be to blame for the inaccurate shooting.

An official solution hasn’t been released yet, but it’s likely to come soon. Despite these problems, Battlefield 6 has remained incredibly popular, topping the Steam charts over the weekend and selling over 6.5 million copies in its first week.
