‘Happy’s Place’ Casts ‘Reba’ Alum Christopher Rich, ‘One Day at a Time’ Star Justina Machado in Guest Roles (EXCLUSIVE)

As a discerning cinephile, I’m thrilled to share an exclusive scoop about the upcoming series “Happy’s Place.” Sources close to the production have revealed that we can expect the talented Justina Machado and Christopher Rich to grace our screens as guest stars!

The position brings Rich back together with Reba McEntire, a cast member from “Happy’s Place,” as they had previously acted alongside each other in the successful sitcom “Reba” for all its six seasons.

Rich is set to portray the character of Maverick, a skilled tattoo artist from our town who excels at his craft, but only with his dominant right hand. Interestingly, Maverick suffered a stroke and likes to playfully puzzle new clients by questioning which hand he’ll be using when they come for their tattoo sessions.

Rich will take on the role of Maverick, a proficient local tattoo artist who works wonders with his right hand. However, due to a past stroke, Maverick likes to keep his customers guessing about which hand he’ll be using during their tattoo appointments as a little joke.

Maritza, also known as Belissa Escobedo’s mother, will make an appearance. Maritza, who worked tirelessly to earn her law degree while raising her child alone, is a self-made success. She built a thriving legal practice and has no patience for the ignorant.

Machado and Rich will be joining the main cast alongside McEntire, Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn in their respective shows.

In the upcoming Netflix series “Pulse,” Machado will take center stage. This medical procedural represents Netflix’s initial foray into the procedural genre. While she gained significant recognition for her leading role in the Netflix reboot of “One Day at a Time,” this show was canceled after its first three seasons, later being revived by Pop for a fourth season. Machado has also made appearances in series like “Six Feet Under” and “Queen of the South.” On the big screen, she’s starred in films such as “The Purge: Anarchy” and “The Throwback.

She is repped by UTA, D2 Management, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher.

Apart from his lead role in “Reba,” Rich has made appearances on various TV shows, including “Murphy Brown,” “The Charmings,” “Almost Home,” “Nash Bridges,” “Suddenly Susan,” and “Another World.” His film credits include “Flight of the Intruder” and “The Joy Luck Club.

He is repped by Bobblehead Entertainment.

The show titled ‘Happy’s Place’ made its first appearance in October, but was soon picked up for an entire season by NBC in November. According to the official synopsis, McEntire plays Bobbie, a character who inherits her father’s tavern and unexpectedly finds herself sharing ownership with Isabella (Escobedo), a twenty-something half-sister she never knew existed.

On the television series “Happy’s Place,” Kevin Abbott serves as both writer and executive producer. Co-creator of the show alongside Julie Abbott, he also shares the executive producer role with McEntire, Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Matt Berry, and Pamela Fryman. The production company responsible is Universal Television.
