telecommunications company, Telemundo Television Studios, and SAG-AFTRA have reached a preliminary deal for SAG-AFTRA to manage the talent of Spanish-speaking TV actors.
Telemundo stands as the top U.S. company offering jobs to Spanish-speaking professionals. Pending approval, this agreement would span the timeframe from October 1st, 2024, to September 30th, 2028.
In 2018, the actors’ guild had negotiated a deal with Telemundo, encompassing their involvement in and payments towards the guild’s health and retirement plans, along with a raise in specific remuneration. This agreement followed as 81% of eligible Telemundo performers opted to unionize. Since 2001, Telemundo has been part of NBCUniversal’s corporate structure, being based in Miami.
Carmen Olivares, the chair of the SAG-AFTRA negotiating committee, expressed gratitude in a statement for the hard work done by her colleagues and staff during this significant and fruitful negotiation. They successfully sealed the deal, which she feels privileged to have achieved on behalf of Spanish-language television actors. It’s an honor for her to serve these talented performers,” stated Carmen Olivares.

As an advocate for Telemundo Television Studios, I’m thrilled to announce that this revised agreement underscores our unwavering dedication to our gifted actor community. It also signifies the strengthening of our fruitful partnership with SAG-AFTRA.
