‘The 1% Club’ Moves to Fox for Season 2 as Joel McHale Replaces Patton Oswald as Host

The popular quiz show “The 1% Club” has been given the green light for a second round, set to broadcast on Fox following its previous run on Amazon Prime Video. This time around, Joel McHale will step into the hosting role, replacing Patton Oswalt from Season 1.

Each installment of “The 1% Club” initiates with a group of 100 competitors who are at risk of elimination as they tackle a sequence of questions designed to gauge their logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and everyday wisdom. Their objective is to persevere until the end and claim a $100,000 reward by answering a question that only approximately 1% of the nation can solve correctly.

The television series ‘The 1% Club’ was developed by Dean Nabarro and Andy Auerbach, and is produced by BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions in collaboration with Magnum Media. BBC Studios handles distribution, while Nabarro and Auerbach serve as executive producers for Magnum, alongside Ryan O’Dowd and Krystal Whitney from the BBC. Wes Kauble acts as showrunner. Originally aired on ITV in the U.K. in 2022, ‘The 1% Club’ format has since been introduced by BBC in various countries including Netherlands, Australia, Germany, France, Israel, Spain, Turkey, Mexico, Greece, Ukraine, Hungary, and the United States.

McHale gained prominence for his role as Jeff Winger in the NBC sitcom “Community” from 2009 to 2015, and for hosting various unscripted shows, with “The Soup” on E! being one of the most recognized between 2004 and 2015. Presently, he is the host of the reality competition series “House of Villains” on E! and the baking competition show “Crime Scene Kitchen” on Fox. Additionally, he plays Frank Shaw in the sitcom “Animal Control” on Fox, which is now in its third season.

McHale is repped by UTA, Ziffren Brittenham and Johnson Shapiro Slewett Kole.
