Doom: The Dark Ages Won’t Have Multiplayer

In one of gaming’s top-tier shooter series, Doom: The Dark Ages, initially appeared ripe for multiplayer experiences. However, during today’s Xbox Developer Direct presentation, Bethesda and id Software confirmed that The Dark Ages will not feature multiplayer modes. Nonetheless, it appears that Doom enthusiasts are in store for an exceptional single-player game as compensation.

According to Eurogamer’s report, the executive producer of Doom: The Dark Ages, Marty Stratton, has stated that the upcoming game is primarily dedicated towards crafting a “grand campaign.

Stratton stated, “We opted for this choice at an early stage to fully commit ourselves to the campaign. This is our grandest, most extensive, and most spectacular campaign yet, and we couldn’t be more content with our decision.

As per the game’s director, Hugo Martin, focusing on a single-player campaign enabled the development team to incorporate some of the most thrilling aspects from The Dark Ages, such as engaging in combat using a mech reminiscent of DOOM’s style.

Martin pointed out, “That’s why we managed to incorporate both the dragon and the Atlantis-like mech into the game. You see, these elements have been on our wishlist for several games, but we hadn’t been able to include them before due to the multiplayer aspect of our game that we cherished. However, it was primarily designed to enhance the single player experience, rather than divide attention between multiple campaigns.

As a gamer, I’m hyped to learn that Bethesda and id have revealed the system requirements for “Doom: The Dark Ages.” This game is going to push my rig to its limits if I want to experience it at its full potential. Mark your calendars, fellow gamers! “Doom: The Dark Ages” launches on May 15 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Let’s get ready to rumble!
