Charli xcx to Star in A24 Movie ‘The Moment,’ Based on Her Own Original Idea (EXCLUSIVE)

Charli XCX is partnering with A24 for the creation of an original film titled “The Moment,” which she herself came up with.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m excited to share that the “Pop Sensation” formerly known as the “Brat” will be stepping into the producer’s chair for her debut project under Studio365, her newly established production company. The specifics of the storyline are being tightly guarded, but whispers in the industry hint that our pop star might even take on a leading role in this upcoming film. Stay tuned for more updates!

In this instance, “The Moment” is marking Aidan Zamiri’s first venture into feature directing, as he co-wrote the script with Bertie Brandes. A.G. Cook, a longtime collaborator and producer known for his work on “Brat,” will be responsible for creating the film’s music score.

David Hinojosa, in addition to this, is creating “The Moment” under his production company 2AM. Brandon Creed, Brandon Schwartz-Wright (also known as Mikey), and Zach Nutman will be the executive producers for this project. The worldwide distribution of the movie falls under A24’s purview.

Following the news that I’ve been nominated for five Brit Awards categories, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Dance and Pop Act, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement! This is just one more step in my journey as I delve deeper into the world of cinema. You might have heard that I’m set to star in several upcoming film projects, such as the remake of “Faces of Death” directed by Daniel Goldhaber, Romain Gavras’ adventure comedy “Sacrifice”, Pete Ohs’ “Erupcja”, and many more. I’ll also be sharing screen time with some amazing talents like Nicholas Galitzine, Emma Corin, Maika Monroe in Julia Jackman’s “100 Nights of Hero”, and Benito Skinner’s comedy series “Overcompensating”. Additionally, I’m looking forward to collaborating with Olivia Wilde, Mason Gooding, and Cooper Hoffman in Gregg Araki’s “I Want Your Sex”, as well as being part of Cathy Yan’s “The Gallerist” alongside Jenna Ortega, Natalie Portman, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. It’s an honor to be working with such a diverse and talented group of artists, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

More recently, Charli impressively displayed her acting skills on “Saturday Night Live.” Notably, she undertook dual roles as both the show’s host and musical performer. In addition, Charli talked with EbMaster in December regarding her transition into a different style of performance.

She dislikes it when artists suddenly venture into other fields without properly studying or gaining knowledge about them first,” she stated. “In fact, I’ve spent the last three to four years delving into studies to equip myself with the necessary understanding before taking any action.
