As a captivated movie critic, I’m thrilled to share that my recent discovery, “Spy High,” a riveting documentary series, is set to grace the screens of Amazon Prime Video. This compelling project traces the events unfolded in the 2010 class action lawsuit, Robbins v. Lower Merion School District, and has earned its place in the prestigious SXSW 2025 lineup. I can hardly wait for this intriguing journey to unfold on our television screens!
The four-part series, titled ‘Spy High’, centers around the narrative of Blake Robbins, a 15-year-old who sued his esteemed public school for spying on him after being falsely accused of selling drugs. However, beneath this tantalizing suburban controversy lies a deeper truth, hinting at unsettling disclosures that touch upon the ongoing battle over digital privacy in schools today.
After its SXSW premiere in March, “Sky High” will begin streaming in April.
Mark Wahlberg, along with Archie Gips and Stephen Levinson, serve as executive producers for this series under their production company Unrealistic Ideas. Additionally, Aliza Rosen, Jody McVeigh-Schultz, and David Wendell also hold executive producer roles. The studio behind this project is Amazon MGM.
Lauren Anderson, head of brand and content innovation at Amazon MGM, expressed her pride in introducing a compelling and thought-provoking documentary series that examines the significant events of 2010. This series, produced by Unrealistic Ideas in collaboration with Aliza and Jody, provides an insightful exploration of the complex intersection between technology, privacy, and education. It also delves into the long-term effects on school privacy policies nationwide. We hope this documentary will inspire viewers to reflect upon the delicate balance between security and personal rights in educational institutions.
Unrealistic Ideas is excited to collaborate with Amazon MGM Studios, director Jody McVeigh-Schultz, and Aliza Rozen on a sensational project. This extraordinary tale, stranger than fiction, promises to leave viewers spellbound, awestruck, and thoroughly entertained,” said Gips, the president of Unrealistic Ideas.
