Liz Wise Lyall Returns to Lifetime as Senior VP of Scripted Programming and Development

Life has appointed Liz Wise Lyall as its top executive for scripted series production and creation.

Lyall is back to cable television, having previously served as a manager at Lifetime Network. Subsequently, she was promoted to the position of director, where she worked on movies such as “The Pregnancy Pact” with Thora Birch, “To Be Fat Like Me” starring Kaley Cuoco, and “Girl, Positive” featuring Jennie Garth. Additionally, she collaborated creatively with celebrities like Salma Hayek, Garth Brooks, and Gale Anne Hurd.

In her fresh position, Lyall is tasked with directing the scripted collaborative productions and movie production plan for the network. This includes supervising the creation of original movies as well as striving to increase strategic purchases and alliances.

Or, more concisely:

Lyall’s new job involves managing the network’s scripted co-productions and film strategy, developing original films, and growing strategic acquisitions and partnerships.

Elaine Frontain Bryant, the executive vice president of programming at A&E, Lifetime, and LMN, expressed great excitement as Liz is coming back. With her extensive knowledge about Lifetime movies, she’s perfect for this role. Her enthusiasm combined with her ability to unite teams will significantly contribute to our movie team’s continued success,” said Elaine Frontain Bryant.

After departing from Lifetime, Lyall worked for approximately 14 years at The CW. During this time, she handled current series, script development, and international co-productions. She played a crucial part in supervising shows such as “Superman & Lois,” “Riverdale,” “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “The 100” and “iZombie.” Her last position there was senior vice president, head of scripted programming.

Before embarking on a career in television, Lyall initially gained experience as a literary representative at The Alpert Group in Los Angeles and Harrison Artist Management in Canada.
