Developer Singularity 6 has been quite secretive about the specifics of the upcoming game area, The Elderwood, set to debut in their charming MMO Palia. This new adventure zone was initially mentioned by the developers in a post back in August 2024 when they were still working on this next virtual destination.
For quite some time now, there hasn’t been a developer post, but just recently, they shared a small, or “mini,” update that lined up with the announcement of the next game update. It’s officially confirmed that Palia is getting its 0.188 update, which marks the start of Luna New Year festivities, introduces new in-game features, and provides an update on when we can expect the Elderwood to be released.
On January 22nd, 2025, Singularity 6’s latest developer update was simultaneously published with Palia’s news announcement. This coincided with the unveiling of the game’s first update for the year, version 0.188, which will be available starting from January 23rd, 2025 on both PC and Nintendo Switch platforms. The v0.188 update introduces new decorative sets, additional decor tint options, fresh Premium Store offerings, and the revival of the Luna New Year: Maji Market event.
2025’s first update for Palia is the New Beginnings overhaul, reinstating the Lunar New Year festivities, introducing fresh decorations, and much more!

This update introduces a fresh loyalty program called Zeki’s Loyalty Club. With this new program, players can gain access to Palia Coins, the premium currency, in an innovative way. The rollout of this feature is set with the update, and further details will be provided in the accompanying patch notes. Keep an eye out for our upcoming guide on this latest in-game loyalty system. In the recent developer post, they acknowledged and are working to improve the lack of transparency that was raised after The Elderwood announcement last August, particularly addressing concerns about it being too lengthy.
In some cases, we’ve included items in trailers and other promotional materials that do not appear in the game, which is not our intention. Going forward, we are dedicated to ensuring this does not happen again and will make every effort to clearly communicate if it does, ideally along with their release.
Concerning The Elderwood, the creator shared that this upcoming Adventure Zone has been a major priority for their team, and they’ve been enjoying testing it among themselves. This focus is also why there was less gameplay content in recent updates, as they have poured their efforts into making Elderwood exceptional. They are aiming for a potential release in Q2, with further details to be revealed in the coming months.
