‘Drop’ Trailer: Meghann Fahy Goes on a Date From Hell

Five years following “Freaky,” director Christopher Landon returns with another spine-chilling production from Blumhouse. In this new installment, everyone becomes a potential suspect.

In the trailer for “Drop,” Meghann Fahy, known from “The White Lotus” and “The Perfect Couple,” portrays Violet – a widow who resumes dating. But her life takes a dark turn when she starts receiving mysterious airdrop messages on her phone, threatening to kill the men she’s dating if she doesn’t comply. The catch? If she doesn’t do as instructed, her children will be harmed.

Recently, Fahy received an Emmy nomination for her exceptional supporting role in the second season of “The White Lotus”. The part she shared screen time with was played by Brandon Sklenar, known for his role in “It Ends with Us”. Alongside them, the series features Violett Beane, Travis Nelson, Fiona Browne, Gabrielle Ryan, Tara Mae and Stephanie Karam.

Jillian Jacobs and Christopher Roach penned the script for ‘Drop’, having collaborated previously on ‘Truth or Dare’ and ‘Fantasy Island’. Interestingly, Landon began work on ‘Drop’ following the disintegration of the initial version of ‘Scream VII’ in December 2023, at which point he left the project. Horror enthusiasts might recall that Landon shared on social media platform X that the job was a dream come true, but it turned sour and he felt terrible for everyone involved. However, it’s now time to move forward.

Michael Bay, renowned for his contributions to the Transformers series, serves as a producer in collaboration with Brad Fuller (famous for A Quiet Place and The Purge) and Cameron Fuller under the banner of Platinum Dunes.
