The upcoming spin-off of the well-known CBS police drama “FBI,” which will delve into the roles of CIA agents, has been officially verified by EbMaster.
In the future, a fresh installment for the “FBI” series could be born as a derivative show, introducing a brand-new character within an upcoming episode of the existing “FBI” series.
The working title for the latest project is ‘FBI: CIA.’ The tagline reveals the plot as follows: A meticulous FBI officer, known for his strict adherence to rules, teams up with a cunning CIA agent who thrives on street smarts. Together, they form an undercover taskforce established to combat and prevent acts of domestic terrorism in and around New York City.
The show aims to secure a spot for the 2025-2026 season as a potential series. At present, auditions are being held for three characters to be featured in an “FBI” episode. If the series gets approved, these characters would become regulars in the new show.
I’m proudly part of the team working on “FBI: Most Wanted” as we have Dick Wolf signed on as a writer and executive producer, along with our showrunner David Hudgins, and the talented duo Nicole Perlman and David Chasteen. Peter Jankowski from Wolf Entertainment is also an executive producer. The production companies Universal Television and CBS Studios are behind us for this exciting project.
If “FBI: CIA” moves ahead, it will mark the fourth installment of this franchise on CBS. Currently, CBS is also broadcasting both “FBI: Most Wanted” and “FBI: International.” Notably, “FBI” was recently renewed for an additional three seasons in April 2024, whereas “Most Wanted” and “International” were each given a single season extension.
Additionally, this development marks the potential upcoming extension of an existing series within the current season of a CBS program. Simultaneously, the network is actively developing two spinoffs: one titled “The Equalizer” starring Titus Welliver and Juani Feliz, and another from the multi-camera comedy “The Neighborhood,” featuring Marcel Spears and Sheaun McKinney.
