This week, we delve into our beloved TV series, “Wealthy Women’s Antics,” where the affluent ladies indulged in various activities. They expressed delight and admiration towards a highly talented chef who seemed oblivious to the term ‘amuse-bouche,’ raising eyebrows given their financial status and potential dating preferences. The women escorted their 16-year-old daughters to the driveway, surprising them with a dream gift for a sweet 16: a brand ambassador named Marilyn. In the back of a van, they chatted about their favorite internet sensations, as they had yet to encounter anyone young enough to guide them in correctly pronouncing “memes.
Essentially, their main response was anger because Kyle Richards’ show is indeed what it is. This fact became particularly evident in the aftermath of her dramatic exit from Boz’s Sisterhood Serenity (Girls and Gays Never Forget All White Seafood) Soiree. After all, she’s been there since the beginning, and she’s made numerous personal sacrifices for our entertainment: compromising her privacy, straining relationships with her sisters, enduring challenges in her marriage, dealing with Faye Resnick, and even attempting to create drama among the other women or (awkwardly) confronting Denise Richards about an affair that arguably should not have been aired on the show. While I’m not suggesting she’s perfect or even a saint, it’s undeniable that this is her show.
In any group or team, one member tends to stand out more than others. Michael Jordan was unquestionably the star of the Chicago Bulls. Similarly, Posh Spice earns the most income and attracts the most media attention among her group. On the TV show “Melrose Place”, Heather Locklear was the only one who received the special title of “special guest star”, despite Lisa Rinna’s frequent complaints. And just as Michael Jordan could overshadow Scotty Pippen, Posh Spice can opt out of the reunion tour, and Heather Locklear earned more than her fellow cast members – a situation that also applies to Kyle in his group or team.
It appears that Kyle is at the heart of many conflicts she’s currently facing. Dorit has consistently pointed out throughout the season that there are different sets of rules for Kyle compared to others, which she finds frustrating. This sentiment is further reinforced by Sutton’s statement at Garcelle’s beach house: “I won’t kneel before Kyle Richards.” Sutton’s comment highlights an issue where other group members are criticized when they cry or leave heated discussions, but Kyle escapes accountability and instead condescends to the women by suggesting they should feel ashamed for having these disagreements at her age.
Similarly to how Rinna aspired to earn as much recognition as Locklear, Sutton, Dorit, and the other women strive to be regarded like Kyle, but they won’t achieve that. She is the central figure of the show. She is the leading star. She is the one viewers tune in to watch, even if it’s because they detest her so much they can’t help but keep watching. I’ve expressed this sentiment a countless number of times, but in the advanced stages of Housewifery, all conflicts on the show revolve around the show, and this particular one is significantly more about the show than any others. They may argue about it as much as they wish, but it won’t alter the fact that Bravo, the producers, and certain segments of the fanbase will always support Kyle. If they disagree, they should look for another show.
In this scene, it seems Kyle’s actions are questionable more than ever before. Her insistence on persisting in a seemingly futile argument might be contributing to the growing annoyance among her co-stars. Let’s examine several points where Kyle appears to be in error.
Firstly, when Kyle claims she was merely exchanging memes and jokes with PK, it seems there’s more to the story. The analogy of a booger on a bull scrotum steak might suggest a distasteful or unpleasant association that Kyle is trying to hide.
Secondly, while Dorit may have initially encouraged Kyle’s friendship with PK, circumstances between Dorit and her husband changed, and it would have been wise for Kyle to reconsider the friendship at that point.
Thirdly, Kyle argues she doesn’t owe reading her text message aloud to the group, but given that she originally disclosed it to certain members of the group, she owes Dorit an explanation or a reread of the text in question. As Sutton pointed out, if Kyle had no issue sharing it with some, she should have no problem sharing it with all.
Lastly, Kyle asserts that she is being made to feel guilty when she’s not, but her reluctance to disclose the content of her texts and the nature of her relationship with PK, along with the mysterious playing of George Michael’s “Faith” backward, could indeed be seen as actions that are causing confusion or suspicion.
It’s clear that Kyle has made several errors regarding this matter, and her actions are quite telling. She was found doing something inappropriate, using ambiguous language that hints at guilt, leaving an event prematurely due to the pressure, and attempting to hide the issue. Unfortunately, Kyle refuses to acknowledge what every Housewife should learn: “I acted improperly. I apologize. I promise it won’t happen again.
As a film enthusiast, I found myself reminiscing about the long-overdue apology between Dorit and Garcelle, which unfolded during our recent visit to Boz’s for a relaxing massage from the muscular therapists at Manly Handz Massage (for those eager to unwind). In the midst of their massages, Dorit approached Garcelle with the intention of revisiting their past altercation at The Viper Room. However, much to my surprise, Dorit didn’t rehash the argument but instead acknowledged the pain she had caused Garcelle throughout the years. She expressed her regret for her actions and vowed to improve, leaving Garcelle visibly moved and relieved that she no longer needed to endure another defense of Dorit’s innocence.
Kyle doesn’t have to perform that task because she isn’t present. The reason being, it’s her program, so she’s never had to do it in the past, and she doesn’t need to do it now. According to gossip magazines, Kyle would prefer Dorit leaving the show than admitting to any wrongdoings. This is the influence Kyle wields, which is what the other women resent deeply. When Dorit claims Erika is afraid of Kyle, she actually means that Erika fears displeasing Kyle and losing her position on the show. Both Dorit and Erika are insecure about their jobs, with Dorit needing hers more than ever. Erika safeguards her place on the program by defending Kyle, while Dorit maintains hers by targeting Kyle and causing a stir.
Although I believe Kyle’s statement may be misleading in this instance, there seems to be some wiggle room regarding the interpretation of her message to PK at the ice cream parlor. The sentence “I’ve never repeated anything you’ve shared with me and never would” is the crux of the matter. As a fan of reality TV who enjoys observing how the show impacts these women’s lives and mentalities, I found the most intriguing moment of the episode to be when Kyle clarified that she didn’t mean she would keep secrets from or about Dorit, but rather she meant she wouldn’t share it with production, choosing not to bring it up on the show. What a delightful twist of irony! Let us all raise a toast to St. Alainis, the patron saint of irony, as this has now become the main focus of the series.
When Kyle and Dorit engage in an emotional talk on a flower box somewhere in Holland Park, Kyle clarifies her previous statements about production, the show, and their intentions. In a private conversation, they’ve discussed various topics, but most of them revolved around the show and even Lisa Vanderpump. [SCREECH SOUND EFFECT] Now, let me rephrase that: During a heartfelt chat in Holland Park, Kyle explains her earlier comments on the production, the reality show, and their underlying messages. The majority of their conversations, aside from the TikTok ban, have been centered around the show, including discussions about Lisa Vanderpump. [SCREECH SOUND EFFECT] However, it’s important to note that there are supposedly confidential texts between Kyle, PK, and LVP that haven’t been made public yet. Some might wonder who can navigate the deep web or hire a hacker to access these messages. I have $384 saved up for such a task, hoping someone could breach one of those phones and reveal the contents of those texts.
Despite Dorit sharing her ex’s past mistreatment, Kyle continues to defend him instead of supporting her friend. This behavior is unexpected from someone who claims to be a supportive friend. Moreover, Dorit questions Kyle’s version of events involving PK because he allegedly shared information with everyone, as per Dorit’s account. Dorit also explains that PK and Mo used to have dinner together, and then PK would discuss his relationship issues at their house.
Kyle’s house is where we’re all playing, but I stand with Dorit in this matter. When Dorit and Erika go for facials, Dorit wants to question Erika about her continuous defense of Kyle at Boz’s place. Erika replies, “Indeed, Kyle’s message seems suspicious, but so what? I choose to believe my friend.” I share Erika’s viewpoint. In my friendship circle, I would trust my friend’s words and move on. If you can’t trust your friends, why be friends at all?
In a reality TV show, Erika maintains friendships with both Dorit and Kyle, but isn’t obligated to adhere to any particular ideology. When Dorit questions Erika, “If you knew it was true, are you going to be okay with it?”, Erika responds negatively, which poses a problem for Kyle as it seems she may have said more about Dorit than she’s admitting, potentially trapping herself in a web of deceit. Regardless of the show being Kyle’s or her ability to follow different rules, her persistent denial and attempts to hide the truth will only worsen her situation, and no amount of dramatic spa exits can alter that fact.
