‘SNL’ Gave Scarlett Johansson a ‘Heads Up’ About Colin Jost Making a ‘Vagina Joke’ About Her, but She Was Still ‘Genuinely So Shocked’ By It on Air

Colin Jost appeared on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, and was questioned about any potential trouble he might’ve encountered with his wife Scarlett Johansson, following the surprising “Weekend Update” segment during SNL’s Christmas episode (broadcasted on Dec. 21). During festive episodes, Jost and Michael Che traditionally exchange off-color jokes they haven’t previously read aloud. This time around, Che took it a step further by having Johansson waiting backstage while Jost made jokes at her expense during the live broadcast.

“Are you in trouble with Scarlett?” Fallon asked Jost a month later.

Jost admitted he seemed to have upset quite a few individuals,” he said. “Scarlett appeared truly astounded by this revelation.” (or)
“Jost confessed that many folks might be disappointed with him,” he stated. “Scarlett showed genuine surprise at this admission.

Last year’s “Weekend Update” on SNL reached a viral peak when Che made Jost crack a joke about Costco and Johansson’s private life. The joke went like this: “Costco has taken the roast beef sandwich off their menu, but I don’t mind. Ever since my wife had the baby, I’ve been eating roast beef every night.” As the audience gasped in shock, the camera panned to Johansson looking astonished backstage.

Jost explained to Fallon that the “SNL” team had warned Johansson about an NSFW joke, saying something like, “They asked if she’d be okay with Michael making a subtle vagina joke at some point. She replied, ‘Sure, go ahead,’ not knowing where it would lead.

Jost remarked, “Scarlett was backstage and exclaimed something like, ‘Wow, this is it!'” He noted that his genuine response was due to the fact that he’s not a very skilled actor.
