The upcoming Netflix series by Harlan Coben titled “Run Away” has unveiled its extensive ensemble of actors, which includes James Nesbitt, Ruth Jones, and Minnie Driver.
The cast is completed by Alfred Enoch, Lucian Msamati, Jon Pointing, Ellie de Lange, Adrian Greensmith, Ellie Henry, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Annette Badland, Ingrid Oliver, Maeve Courtier-Lilley, Finty Williams, Joe McGann, and Amy Gledhill. (This version maintains the original order of names but uses simpler, more conversational language.)
The eight-part series focuses on the character Simon (Nesbitt), whose life unravels when his daughter Paige (de Lange) disappears. After locating her in a city park, clearly addicted to drugs, Simon isn’t the only person present. A disagreement spirals into appalling violence, causing Simon to lose his daughter once more. As hinted by the logline, “his quest to find her will lead him into a perilous underworld, uncovering hidden truths that could forever shatter his family.
Beginning production for this series will take place in the U.K. come January, and let me tell you, the cast – Jimmy Nesbitt, Ruth Jones, Alfred Enoch, Lucian Msamati, and Minnie Driver – is nothing short of a treasure trove of talent! I’m positively thrilled at the prospect of joining them on set.
Coben will serve as the executive producer for the show, which is one of thirteen adaptations of his novels on Netflix, through his production company Final Twist Productions. Danny Brocklehurst acts both as the head writer and an executive producer. The series “Run Away” is produced by Quay Street Productions, a division of ITV Studios.
