The head of the Mass Effect franchise seems to have a more optimistic outlook compared to many Dragon Age fans, as suggested by his social media posts on X.
Michael Gamble from BioWare studio genuinely adores Mass Effect. When asked by a website user if he had an exceptional week (likely due to the recent departure of Corinne Busche from BioWare), he replied that every week is a great week for him at work, and Brenon Holmes (the developer of the next Mass Effect) can vouch for this. However, he didn’t engage with the user’s suggestion or provocation directly.
Although it wasn’t a lot, it managed to satisfy some of the fans, but many still harbor doubts, which is understandable given the history. From the start, there was skepticism about Dragon Age: The Veilguard, from the controversial trailer in June up until its release in November.
As a devoted Dragon Age fan myself, it appears that while the title drew in a crowd of us enthusiasts, the departure of Busche and previous reports seem to hint at a return of Dragon Age falling short of both fans’ and publishers’ expectations. On Steam, reviews for the fourth Dragon Age installment are still categorized as “mostly positive,” yet they teeter precariously on the edge of “mixed” ratings.
Given the recent speculation (and supposedly baseless rumors) surrounding the potential closure of BioWare Edmonton, it’s completely understandable that fans of the _Mass Effect_ franchise are anxious about the studio and their cherished series. A cheerful post from the director, without providing specific updates on the game’s development progress, doesn’t quite quell the concerns of BioWare enthusiasts.
